I understand transitions well because…
I’VE BEEN THERE.
Like you, I’ve moved through my own significant life transitions. I’ve struggled to articulate what was missing in my life. I have found my voice and understand the importance of sharing it.
I’ve lived in 5 countries, have had more than a dozen jobs and speak 4 languages. I am a seeker, a mother, a writer, a wife, a friend, an empty-nester, an eternal student.
While I have lived and worked in so many wonderful places, I realized that two things have always stood out: one, in spite of the often fun and interesting jobs I've had, I always felt that there was something missing, that I was meant to be doing something else with my life, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it.
Two, I connected easily with friends and colleagues, enjoyed seeing them blossom and thrive, and was passionate about helping them achieve their goals anyway I could.
When I approached a fairly significant birthday, I began to take stock of where I'd been, what I'd been doing and how I'd done it. It struck me that while I was encouraging others to reach for the stars, I had not been willing to examine what was missing in my own life. I decided it was time to stop playing it small and safe. I did some soul searching and shared my dilemma / desire with a close friend who suggested I think about becoming a coach—she said it’s what I’d been doing all along anyway. I did my research and discovered that coaching aligned perfectly with what was meaningful to me. It felt right. I enrolled in a program and became certified.
Now I get to continue to support others as a coach and through my writings, and I couldn't be happier!
